Is FitAI Coach really free to start? +

Yes. The free tier is genuinely free with no credit card required. You get daily recovery scoring, unlimited workout logging, daily protein tracking, 1 AI workout plan per month, 10 AI coach messages per day, 30 days of progress history, and 3 transformation photos. You can use FitAI Coach for free as long as you like and only upgrade when you want the full AI experience.

Is FitAI Coach suitable for complete beginners? +

Absolutely. During onboarding you select your fitness level — Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced. For beginners, the AI generates a program with lighter loads, more rest days, and foundational movement patterns. The AI coach is always available to explain any exercise, answer questions about form, or adjust the plan if something feels too hard.

Can I use the app without gym equipment? +

Yes. During onboarding you specify your available equipment — full gym, home gym with dumbbells, resistance bands only, or bodyweight only. The AI generates a complete program using only what you have. If your situation changes, you can regenerate your plan at any time from the home screen.

What devices does FitAI Coach support? +

FitAI Coach is available on:

  • iOS — iPhone, iOS 17 and above (iPhone-only, no iPad)
  • Apple Watch companion app included (watchOS 10+) — recovery ring, workout controls, morning check-in
  • Garmin, Whoop, and Oura Ring data flows automatically through Apple Health
AI & Features
How does the AI generate my workout plan? +

During onboarding you tell us your fitness goal (muscle gain, fat loss, endurance, general fitness), your current fitness level, available equipment, and how many days per week you can train. FitAI Coach sends this profile to Claude AI by Anthropic, which generates a personalised progressive overload program tailored specifically to you — not a pre-made template. Every exercise, set scheme, and rest day is chosen for your specific situation. The plan adapts every week based on your logged performance and recovery score.

How is FitAI Coach different from other fitness apps? +

Most fitness apps give every user the same template programs. FitAI Coach is different in three ways: (1) Your workout plan is AI-generated from scratch based on your unique profile — not a pre-made template. (2) Your daily training intensity is adjusted automatically based on your real recovery data — sleep, HRV, and resting heart rate from Apple Health. (3) With Premium, the AI Coach builds a persistent memory of your injuries, preferences, and goals — so every response is specific to you, not generic advice.

Does the AI coach remember my previous workouts and conversations? +

Every time you open the AI coach, your full workout history, recovery scores, and current program are included as context — so responses are always relevant to where you are in your training. With Premium, the AI Coach also builds a persistent memory of your injuries, preferences, and past struggles — so it remembers details like your bench press max or equipment limitations across every session. Free users get full session context; Premium users get long-term memory.

What is the Recovery Score and how is it calculated? +

The Recovery Score is a daily 0–100 number that tells you how ready your body is to train. It is calculated from three inputs read from Apple Health:

  • Sleep duration — how many hours you slept
  • Heart Rate Variability (HRV) — a measure of nervous system recovery (higher = better)
  • Resting Heart Rate — how low your heart rate is at rest (lower = more recovered)

A score of 80–100 means train hard. 50–79 means moderate intensity. 30–49 means keep it light. Below 30 means rest. The AI coach uses this score to automatically adjust your training recommendations for the day.

Does it work without Apple Health? +

Yes. If you prefer not to connect Apple Health, you can enter your sleep duration, heart rate, and HRV manually each morning through the daily check-in screen. Your recovery score will be calculated exactly the same way. Connecting Apple Health simply makes it automatic — the app reads your data in the background so you skip the manual entry step.

Free tier includes:

Is FitAI Coach free to download? +

Yes — FitAI Coach is free to download with no credit card required. The free tier gives you daily recovery scoring, unlimited workout logging, daily protein tracking, 1 AI plan per month, 10 AI coach messages per day, 30 days of history, and 3 transformation photos. When you're ready for the full AI experience, Premium is $9.99/month or $79.99/year and is billed through Apple App Store.

Can I cancel my subscription anytime? +

Yes. There are no lock-in contracts. Cancel at any time through iPhone Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → FitAI Coach. Your premium access continues until the end of the current billing period. No cancellation fees.

Privacy & Data
Is my health and fitness data private? +

Yes. Your data is stored with Row-Level Security — only you can ever access your own data, even at the database level. We never sell your data to third parties. Health data read from Apple Health is used only to calculate your recovery score and personalise your coaching. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.

Can I delete my account and all my data? +

Yes. You can delete your account at any time from the Profile screen within the app. Upon deletion, all your personal data, workout history, health metrics, coach conversations, and transformation photos will be permanently deleted within 30 days. This action is irreversible.
